Little Leaf Linden
Tilia cordata
Age: appx. 40 years
This tree was grown in Paducah, Kentucky by bonsai practitioner and potter, Randy Davis. Randy also made the pot. Linden trees make great deciduous bonsai due to their growth habit and the interest of the bark. For these reasons they are great to show in the winter months after defoliation. The European species, Tilia cordata, is preferred for bonsai as the leaves are smaller than the American linden or basswood, Tilia americana.
